More than 30 years ago, the United Nations agreed the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Among various rights, it enshrines all children’s right to health, play and education. But how do these three interact, and what role can the Commonwealth play in capitalising upon the reinforcing benefits of these rights?
Join the Council for Education in the Commonwealth and partners as we discuss this important nexus. Three agile sessions with room for lively discussion will form the basis for the conference, tracking the course of a child’s developmental journey while tackling challenging, cross-cutting issues.
With a view to the Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers in 2021, this afternoon won’t just be a talking shop – we’ll be actively seeking to make sport, play and health a key part of the education agenda.
Join us as we celebrate the 60th anniversaries of the CEC and the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan at an informal reception immediately after the conference.
