The HLPF is the annual conference of the United Nations where governments, UN agencies and civil society come together to discuss the achievements that have been made towards Agenda 2030. This year the HLPF, taking place from 6-15 July, will discuss ways to ensure a sustainable and resilient recovery from COVID-19 that puts us on track to realise the 2030 Agenda.
The theme will be: ‘Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development: building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development’.
As an international university association advocating for the key role that higher education plays in achieving sustainable development, the ACU will take an active part in the debates and events again this year, together with our partners and members:
SDG Learn workshop with the SDG Academy: ‘Filling the gaps in further education for the 2030 Agenda and inspiring action towards the SDGs’ - 12 July, 8:30 – 10:15 am EDT
The ACU has co-organised this online workshop with our partners, the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), and the SDG Academy. Our Chief Executive and Secretary General Dr Joanna Newman will join the panel discussion, moderated by Florencia Librizzi from SDSN, and IAU Secretary General Dr Hilligje van’t Land.
